Newly-published books

Open, the latest in the Field Guide series from Modern Daily Knitting, contains five lace designs by Jeanette Sloan. I am particularly taken with the relaxed slouchiness of the 'Mood' cardigan.

Among the pictures of beautiful knitwear in Scandinavian Sweaters, Kristin Wiola Ødegård has included one showing the reverse side of a stranded knit. I find the stranding on the inside almost as pleasing as the pattern on the outside. My friends have gotten used to me asking to look at the back of their knitting. I feel a bit sad that with all the lockdown restrictions I haven't been able to get close enough to do that for months now!

I'll just put the Big Book of Christmas Crochet here in case it's useful. If September is too early for you to be thinking about Christmas, then feel free to forget I mentioned it.
