Newly-published books

[Book: 'One-Stitch Baby Knits' by Val Pierce] [Book: 'Raffia Crochet' by Wool and the Gang] [Book: 'Footnotes' by Dana Gervais]

The "one stitch" that Val Pierce refers to in the title of One-Stitch Baby Knits is garter stitch. This should make for straightforward knitting, perfect for novices picking up their needles for a new baby.

I admit that I haven't had much interest in raffia yarns before, probably because I've not thought enough about how I could use them. Wool and the Gang have done the thinking for me with Raffia Crochet. I love the market bag on the cover and there's a summer hat in there that I like the look of too.

I must believe that owning sock books will magically make socks appear. That's the only reason I can think of to explain why I keep buying sock books when I don't knit socks. But how cool are the shifting stitches and subtle tonal colors of the designs in Footnotes by Dana Gervais? Maybe I need to cast on before the magic starts to work. Pass me my sock needles!
