Newly-published books
The only time I ever tried to crochet any kind of garment, I failed because I didn't know how to shape the fabric in the stitch pattern. Dora Ohrenstein addresses this very issue in her Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary, showing how to increase and decrease three different ways in each of the 125 stitch patterns that she includes. I might be able to finish my crochet cardigan after all!
I am loving Jonas Matthies' cute bookmark designs in Bookies. These would make unusual, useful, and fairly small gifts, which makes them ideal as far as I'm concerned.
I thought, "Wow! How do you do that?" so many times while looking at Keiko Okamoto's Japanese Knitting Stitches that I've added it to my wish list. Lots of the content is available via the 'Look Inside' functionality on Amazon, so it's easy to take a look for yourself and see if you like it too.
