Newly-published books

[Book: 'Simply Shetland Lace' by Brooke Nico] [Book: 'The Step-by-Step Guide to 200 Crochet Stitches' by Tracey Todhunter] [Book: 'Crocheted Birds' by Vanessa Mooncie]

Brooke Nico's new book Simply Shetland Lace includes 20 designs using traditional Shetland lace patterns, along with a short history of the islands, some beautiful photography and useful tips for lace knitting. There are patterns for cardigans, sweaters, mitts, shawls and a blanket.

If you're looking for a new crochet stitch dictionary to add to your craft library, Tracey Todhunter has released The Step-by-Step Guide to 200 Crochet Stitches. And talking of crochet, I am seriously impressed by the level of design detail in Crocheted Birds by Vanessa Mooncie. Some of the birds she has made are just stunning. I can't help but wish they weren't displayed under glass though—I want them to fly free!
